Well, over the course of three months I have read the entire Bible (66 books), writing summaries on every book and inductively studying 12 of them, which entails a week of lectures, writing a paper on the authorship, authentication, dating, origin, and literary methods/styles used, creating a chart that lays out the structure of the entire book then another chart that analyses one segment, observing and interpreting the text, verse by verse, and writing an application. I’ve created a timeline of all 41 kings of the Northern and Southern Kingdoms of Israel, writing summaries of each one’s reign and charting out when they overlapped one another. I’ve done several presentations and additional assignments, taken several tests, and in two days, I have written an 11 page Topical Essay, creating a 25 minute-long presentation out of it. I’ve been in six countries and have seen a lot of awesome things. It has been crazy but incredible, and I have learned so much.
These past three months have been a blessing and a privilege; to have a God so loving that he reveals himself to me, time and time again, in various ways. I have better come to know his name, his power, his goodness, and his love. I have learned how to learn by way of the Bible—an incredible lesson—a rare one, even amongst believers. It has become so much more real to me and I see the connectedness of it all.
He has taught me lessons in humility and discernment; important traits for anyone, and particularly for leaders.
I connected with each person in our group, loving each one of them, and they have all been a blessing to me. I have seen some of the most beautiful places in the world and walked through the most famous and significant Biblical locations, being on a wild adventure, all throughout.
Now, I begin another chapter of my life. I am currently traveling through Germany for a bit and then heading home for a couple of months, raising funds and gathering monthly support, before returning to Switzerland. I have been asked to come back in September to staff a Discipleship Training School and then to staff the next April Bible Core Course. The Lord has been building me up and encouraging me in the ways of leadership—something I have been terrified of—and he brought this opportunity up. I am super excited about it and I know it’s going to be amazing!
To be able to guide others along in the growth and learning that I have experienced through YWAM is an honor, and I will be under some really awesome leadership—I seriously could not ask for anyone better.
I will be writing more about the near future soon! Thank you so much for reading!
